Terms of Use
Last updated: October 5, 2026
These terms apply when you use LowerMyElectricBill.org. By using the site or sending us your bill, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Who we are
LowerMyElectricBill.org is a Maryland-based company. We help electric customers enroll in community solar programs, working as an authorized agent of community solar providers.
We are not your electric utility, and we are not a government agency.
How we're paid
The solar farm operator pays us a fee when a customer enrolls. You never pay us anything.
What this site is, and isn't
This site gives general information about community solar. Your actual discount, term, cancellation rights, and other terms are set out in your subscription agreement and any disclosures the law requires. If anything on this site differs from those documents, the documents control.
We can't guarantee that you'll qualify, that capacity will be available, or how much you'll save in dollars. Sending us your bill doesn't commit you to anything. You only enroll if you sign an agreement.
What you agree to
- The information you send us is accurate.
- You're the electric account holder, or you're authorized to share the bill you send.
- You won't misuse the site, for example by sending someone else's information without permission or trying to interfere with how it works.
Contacting you
If you agree to be contacted when you send your bill, we may call, text, or email you about your enrollment. You can reply STOP to any text, or email us, to opt out. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Our content
The text, images, and video on this site belong to us or are used with permission. Please don't copy them for commercial use.
Limits on our responsibility
We work to keep this site accurate, but it's provided "as is," without warranties. As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for indirect losses that come from using the site, and our total responsibility to you for anything related to the site is limited to $100.
This doesn't limit your rights under your subscription agreement or under consumer protection laws.
If we have a disagreement
These terms are governed by Maryland law. If you have a problem, email us first and we'll try to work it out. If we can't, either of us can have the dispute decided by binding arbitration in Maryland instead of in court. Either of us can still bring a claim in small claims court if it qualifies.
Any dispute will be handled individually. You and we each agree not to bring or join a class action or group claim, whether in arbitration or in court.
Changes
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
